Spiritual Freight Ltd., located at 13490 79 Avenue, Surrey, BC, was officially found non-compliant by the Canadian government with Temporary Foreign Worker (TFW) program regulations on December 2, 2025, resulting in a $49,000 CAD penalty. The violations included: failing to keep documents proving they met conditions for employing foreign nationals for six years from the worker's first day (Code 2, under provisions 209.2(1)(b)(ii) or 209.3(1)(c)(ii)); breaking federal, provincial, or territorial laws on hiring and recruiting in British Columbia (Code 8, under 209.2(1)(a)(ii) or 209.3(1)(a)(ii)); and not being actively engaged in the business the foreign national was hired for (Code 15, under 209.2(1)(a)(i) or 209.3(1)(a)(i)). The employer remains eligible for the program, with no ban imposed. These infractions undermine worker protections by risking exploitation, non-payment, and sham employment, while eroding the TFW program's integrity designed to ensure fair labour practices for vulnerable migrants. This enforcement action demonstrates federal oversight in holding employers accountable.

Another one was fined too. Onoway Petro Canada (legal name: 1877413 Alberta Ltd.), located at 4921 49 Street, Onoway, AB, T0E 1V0, was officially found non-compliant by the Canadian government with Temporary Foreign Worker (TFW) program regulations on December 2, 2025. The violations included: failing to retain required documents proving compliance with foreign national employment conditions for six years from the worker's start date (Code 2); breaching federal, provincial, or territorial hiring and recruiting laws in Alberta (Code 8); providing pay or working conditions that did not match or exceed the employment offer, or assigning a different job than offered (Code 9); and not making sufficient efforts to ensure the workplace was free from physical, sexual, psychological, or financial abuse, or reprisal (Code 17). As a result of this official enforcement action, the employer was fined $32,500 CAD and banned from the TFW program, remaining ineligible until December 2, 2026. These infractions undermine worker protections, exploit vulnerable temporary foreign workers, and erode the integrity of the TFW program designed to ensure fair labour practices.

@jobwatchcanada spiritual freight should be banned too 😡
The fines should be imposed directly on the owner or who attempted the recruit so they can't just shut down and open another business. Does it just fine the business or the person, anyways?

@rottenappIe I would think it depends on the type of business. If they were sole proprietors, then the individual would be charged which wouldn’t be smart in situations like these.

I would bet they’re corporations so in reality, then can be fined, I’m assuming declare bankruptcy, then just shut down and boot up again. I’m incredibly ignorant when it comes to the business side of things like that, but there’s not a whole lot stopping them from closing up shop when their business is fined. And if the business has no money and can’t pay, they shut down.
